AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHIBTG F;UILDIIqG REGTlZATION IN
TEE CITY OF CARLSBAD
The City Council of tne City of Carlsbad does ordain as
f ollotw :
Sectlon I, ADOPTION OF UNIFORT\(I BUILDIHG CODB. The C9ty
Council docs hereby adopt as the Building Code of an4 for said
City, that certain code mayked and designated as the ITnifo-rm
Building Code, 1952 Edition, copyri@ted and adopted by the
f7acWic Coast 3uj-lding Officials Conference, Yegulating the
erectlion, constructton, enlargement, alteration, repairs, moving,
reaoval, demolition, conversion and maintenance of all buildings
and all structw-es, and declaring and establishing Vne tpes of
bulldings which may be constructed in established Fire Zones,
Vlnree copies of which code are on file in the office of tine City

Section 2. SABE, SUBZCT TO Z3.XJING PROVISIOXS, Said code is
adopted subject to the provisions of the Zoning Ordinances which
have been or may be enacted by Vne City Council, vfnich provisions
shall govern all matters in which there may develop a confl5ct
between them and the said Building Code.
Section 3. Md33DING SECTION 103, SCOPE. Section 3.03 of said
Code is hereby amended to read as follows: 29 ll I

however, all auxiltary farm buildings not used for hwan occupancy
shall not be required to confomn to the structural requirements of
this Code, but the plans and construction of said farm buildings
shall be subject to tne approval of the Building Official.
Addftlons, alterations, repairs and- changes of us6 or occu-
pancy in all buildings and strzctures shall comply with the
provisions for new buildings and structui?es except as otherwise
provided in Sections lo&, 306, and 502 of this Code.
Where, in my specific case, different sections of this Code
specify different maberials, methods of construction or other
requirements, the most restrictive shall govern.
Section 4. M,'EWDfNG SECTIOW 60040 WFECTIVE DATE. Section
6004 of said Code is hereby miended to read as follows:
"Secl 6004.. Tnis Ordinance is hereby declared to be an
emergency measure necessary for- the imnedlate preservation of the

ImREAs, the City of Carlsbad has just become incorporated
on the 16th day of July, 1952, and that up to arid including this
