. The City Comcil. of the City of Carlsbad,
DOXS ORDAIN as follows:
SECTIOB I. DEFINITIONS :
(a) Sewage System: Those pipe lines, plant facilities and
appurtenances constructed, maintained and operated by the City f
the collection and treatment of sewage.
(b) ne word '?CityPf as used herein shall mean the City of
Carlsbad.

lot or parcel of land, with building or establishment thereon.
(d) An Apartment House is defined to be any building con-
taining three of more dwelling units with separate plumbing facil-
ities, but shall not include any building commonly known as a hotel
motel or auto court.
(e) A Rooming House is defined as being any building other
than apartment houses, motel, hotel, or auto court, where two or
more rooms are rented to others for lodging purposes by the person
in charge of such building.
$ECTION,2. Every person whose prem2ses in the City are
served by a connection with ehe system of sewerage of the City,
whereby the sewage or industrial wastes, or either or both, are
disposed of by the City, through ehe sewage treatment plant, or
otherwise, slmil pay a sewer service charge based as follows, to-
wit:

SECTION 9. The charges authorized in this Ordinance shall
be computed from the 1st of Oqtob , 1959, regardless of the
effective date of this Ordinance.
. All ordinances or parts of ordinances or sec-
tions in conflict herewith are repealed.
SECTIQN 11. Any person, firm or corporation violating any
of the terms of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misde-
meanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be punishable by a fine
of not more Ehan $308.08 or by imprisonment for a period of not mor€
than six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
SEGTIOM 12. PUBLICATION.
The City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby directed
to cause this ordinance to be published once in the Carlsbad Journal
a newspaper published and of general circulation in said City of
Carlsbad.
First read at a regular meeting of the City Council of said
City held on the 4th day of-~st ' , 1959, and finally
adopted and ordered published at a regular meeting of said Counchl
held on the 18th day of Aug.-ust , 1959, by the following
vote:
AYES: Councilmen Grober, Sonneman, Ledgerwood, McPherson and
Coats.
NOES: None
