ORDINANCE NO. 2024
AB ordinance of the City of Carlsbad, declaring and establishing fire zones; and repealing Section 3 of Ordinanct No. 8005 of the City of Carlsbad. '
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad does
ordain as follows:
Section 1. Purpose.
The purpose of this ordinance is to designate
"fire zones of the City of Carlsbad" which are hereby
adopted for the application of the regulations inclraded in
the "Universal Building Codet', the 1958 edition, published
by the Pacific Coast Building Officialst Conference.
Sectiorr 2. Fire zones created..
That the entire incorporated area of the City OP
Carlsbad is hereby declared to be and is hereby established
as 8 fire district, and said fire district shall be known
and designated as fire zones I, 11 and 111, and each said
zone shall consist and include such territory or portions
of the City of Carlsbad as herein described, to wit:
(a) Fire Zone 1: shall consist of properties
lying within the boundaries as described below:
Star-ting at a point in the centerline of State Street in line with the morth property line of Lot 2, Seaside Lands, Alap 1722, and proceeding
centerline of the AT&SF Railroad tracks; thence south to a pin& in line with the centerline of Oak Street; thence east to the centerline of State Street; thence north to the centerline of the alley between Roosevelt Street and State Street; thence north to the nort proper.ty line of Lot 30, Seaside Lands, Alag 1722; thence west to the seaterline of State Street; and thena north to the point of beginniag.

(b) Fire Zone 11 shall consist of all properties within Zones C-1, C-2, I

CIIY and M, excepting those portions included is Fire Zone I; and any property
reclassified iato these zones automatically become Fire Zone 11.
(e) Fire Zone I11 consists of all other properties in the City of Carlsbad
not included in Fire Zones I and IS.
Section 3.
Seotion 3 of Ordinance €40. 8005 of the'City of Carlsbad is hereby repealed,

If any seetion, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or portion of this
ordinanee is for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the
decision of any court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect
the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance.
City hereby declares that it would have adopted this ordinance and each section,
subsection, sentence, clause, phrase, or portion theFeof irrespective of the
fact that any one or more sections, subsections, sentences, clauses, phrases,
or portions be declared invalid or unconstitutional,

The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and shall
cause the same to be published once in the Carlsbad Journal, and the same shall
take effect and be in force on the thirtieth (30th) day after its passage.
First read at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 6th day
of October, 1959, and finally adopted and ordered published at a meeting of
