ORDINANCE NO, 3037
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD
,WENDING AND ADDING TO ORDINANCE NO,
3005 OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, RELATING
TO WENDED PARKING OF CERTP,IN VEHICLES
WITHIN THE CITY OF CARLSBAD.
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. SECTION 56 - (c) ADDED M SECTION 56 OF ORDINANCE NO. 3005
OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD. Section 56 of Ordinance No. 3005 of the City of
Carlsbad is hereby amended by adding the following sub-section:
f*(c), No person shall park any heavy duty commercial vehicle more than
three (3) hours a street in any residential district except (a) while loading
or unloading property and time in addition to such three (3) hour period is
necessary to complete the work, or (b) when such vehicle is parked in connection
with, and in aid of, the performance of a service to or on a property in the
block in which such vehicle is parked and time in addition to such three (3)
hour period is reasonably necessary to complete such service.
For the purpose of this section, heavy-duty comerc ial vehicle shall mean
2 single vehicle or combination of vehicles having more than two axles, a single
vehicle or combination of vehicles 20 feet or more in length, or a single
vehicle or combination of vehicles 6 feet, 8 inches or more in width, and shall
include, but shall not be limited to, dump trucks, moving vans, tractors,
pole or pipe dollies, house trailers or trailers,
SECTION 2, EFFECTIVE DATE. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be
urgent and necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health
and safety and it shall take effect and be in force forthwith from and after
its passage and approval, The following is a statement of such urgency:
Large commercial vehicles have been parking on narrow residential streets
for long periods of time, creating traffic hazards,
SECTION 3, PUBLICATION. The City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby
directed to cause this ordinance to be published once in the Carlsbad Journal,
a newspaper published and of general circulation in the said City of Carlsbad.
