The City Council of the City of Carlsbad does ordain as f 01 lows : SECTION 1: Subsection [c) of Section 5 of Ordinance No. 1005 is hereby amended to read as follows: "(c) No part-time city employee shall accrue any vacation or sick leave at any time during his employment by City, No full time city enployee shall accrue any vacation or sick leave time before the end of the last day of the first six (6) months of his employmen by the City. At the end of the last day of the first six (6) months of employment by the City, each full time employee re iving a regular monthly salary shal automatically accrue five (5) working days of vacatio time and six (6) working days of sick leave time, and thereafter shall accrue vacation tiEe at the rate of ten (10) working days per year for the period of thei employment fron? the start of the seventh month thereo to the end of the first five (5) years thereof." SECTIgN 2: Subsection (d) of Section 5 of Ordinance No. 1005 is hereby amended to read as follows: "(d) A11 full time employees receiving a regular monthly salary shall accrue vacation time at the rate of fifteen Cl5) working days per period of their employmnt rom the start of the sixth year t here0 f . " I I - , ., ". 1 2 3 I * 0 SECTION 3: Subsection (e) of Section 5 of Ordinance No. 1005 is hereby amnded to read as follows: "(e) All full time employees receiving a regular monthly 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 35 16 salary shall accrue sick leave at the rate of one (1) working day per calendar month for the 7eriod of their employment from the beginning of the seventh month thereof .?' SECTION 4: Subsection (f) of Section 5 of Ordinance No. 1005 is hereby amended to read as follows: "(f) Sick leave shall allow an employee to receive full pay while not working, in the case of actual sickr,ess or disability, or the imTosition of quarantine regulations making it iEpossible for the epployee to report to work, but sick leave shall not be considered a privilege which an employee may use at his discret- ion and it nay not be added to vacation time for the / 22 23 24 25 "(G) No nore than one hundred-twenty (120) working days of unused sick leave may be accuvulated by any employee, Yo more than thirty (30) working days of vacation time nay be accurwlated by any employee I I 29 30 31 SECTION 6: Subsection (h) of Section 5 of Ordinarice No. I I1005 is hereby arr.ended to read as follows: I "(h) The City "anager shall ntrol the tines at whic21 II I vacation may be taken, and no city e ployee shall be ~ 1 i 4 F1 c 7 E 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 '3.8 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 entitled to take authorized by th any vacation at a time which is not City ?tanager .'? SECTION 7: Subsection (i) of Section 5 of Ordinance No. 1005 is hereby amended to read as follows: "(i) In order to receive compensation while absent on sick leave, the employee shall notify his imnediate superior or the City tfanager no later than.four (4) hours after the time set for the beginning of his daily duties, that he will be unable to work that day by reason of sickness. When absence is for Fore than one (1) day by reason of sick leave, the employee shall, at the discretion of the City ?anagcr file a physicianls certificate or a personal affidavi with the City Manager stating the cause of his absence .It SECTION 8: Subsection (j) of Section 5 of Ordinance No. 1005 is hereby amended to read as "(j) ]*!here an em;3loyee receives any compensation for his injuries from the State Compensation Insurance Fund, the amount he receives from the City shall be decreased by the amount so received." SECTION 9: Subsections (k) , (l), and (m) of Section 5 of Drdinance No. 1005 are hereby repealed. SECTION LO: EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance shall tzke :ffect and be in force on the thirty-first day from and after its sdoption. SECTION 11: PUBLICATION. First read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Carlsbad held on the 2nd day of July , 1968, and finally passed, approved and adopted at a regular meeting held on the_ 16th *day of July , 1968, by the following vote, to wit: AYES : Councilmen Neiswender, McComas, Dunne, Jardine and NOES : None. Castro. ATTEST :
