I( 1' 1; 1 2( 2: 2: 2; 24 2[ 2t .2' 2: 2' 31 3 3 ORDINANCE NO. 8057 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD ADOPTING 1970 EDITION OF UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION THEREOF. The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, does rdain as follows: e ?e International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials 5 hereby adopted by reference as the plumbing code of the City of arlsbad except for the following changes, additions and amendments hich shall supercede the provisions of said code: The 1970 edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code copyrighted by A. Section 1.1 is amended to read as follows: "SECTION 1.1 - Administrative Authority and Assistants. henever the term "Administrative Authority" is used in this code t shall be construed to mean the Director of Building and Housing r his authorized representatives". B. SECTION 1.2 - ASSISTANTS. Whenever the term "Assistants" s used in this code it shall be construed to mean deputy inspector r other persons authorized to act for the Director of Building and iousing" . C. Section 1.3 is amended to read as follows: "SECTION 1.3 - DEPARTMENT HAVING JURISDICTION. Unless other- vise provided for by law, the office of adninistrative authority hall be part of the Building and Housing Department". D. The words "single family dwelling" as used in sub-para- raph C of Section 1.10 are amended to read "single or two-family welling. I' E. Section 1.15 is hereby added thereto to read as follows: "SECTION 1.15 RE-INSPECTION. In the event work must be inspected more than one time, a reinspection fee in the amount of $5.00 for each reinspection shall be charged, and no further inspection of the work shall be performed until the reinspection fee has been paid. G. Section 401 thereof is amended to read as follows: "SECTION 401 - MATERIALS. Add subsection (J) which reads: An approved type cleanout fitting, acceptable to the adminis- .rative authority, installed outside of a building at the lower !nd of a building drain may extend 4 inches above grade or terminat .n an approved concrete box installed approximately flush with the :urrounding grade. A maximum extension of 24 inches will be allow- :d on a single riser. For depths requiring a riser in excess of !4 inches an approved two way, two riser cleanout shall be used. 1. Add Section 911 - Public toilet room Requirements to read: Every toilet room for the use of the public at a public jathering place or food handling establishments, stores, shops, factories, canneries, or other commercial or industrial establish- nents, or schools, shall have a tile, sealed cement or other ipproved non absorbent floor and shall be equipped with a properly installed floor drain. T. Add subparagraph (e) to Section 1004 to read: "no galvanized steel or galvanized wrought iron water piping shall be installed or on the ground under any building or structure K. Appendixs A,B.C.D.F. and G. are adopted as part of the plumbins code of the City of Carlsbad. L. Ordinance No. 8053 is hereby repealed.
