ORDINANCE NO. 1157
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA AMENDING CERTAIN SECTIONS OF CHAPTER 2.24 OF THE
CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE RE: ESTABLISHMENT OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. SECTION 2.24.020 composition - APPOINTMENT - is hereby
mended to read as follows:
The Planning Commission shall consist of seven members to be appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the Council, and of four ex-officio members who shall be the City Building Inspector, the Public Works Director, the City Attorney and the Director of Planning. Of the seven members of the Commission first appointed hereunder, two shall be appointed for one-year terms, two shall be appointed for three-year terms, and one shall be appointed for a four-year term. Their successors shall
be appointed for terms of four years. If a vacancy occurs otherwise than by expiration of term, it shall be filled by appointment by the Mayor, with the-approval of the Council for the unexpired portion of the term of the member so vacating. The terms of ex-officio members shall correspond to their respective official tenures. No ex-officio member shall be entitled to a vote (Ord.10203 2)
SECTION 2. SECTION 2.24.050 - OFFICERS-RULES ADOPTION - RECORDS is
ereby amended to read as follows:
The Planning Commission shall elect from among its appointed members a Chairman and Vice-chairman to serve for a term of one year. It shall adopt rules for the transaction of business and shall keep a record of the ResoTutions, trans- actions, findings and determinations, which record shall be
a public record. (Ord. 1020 2 5).
SECTION 3.- EFFECTIVE DATE - This Ordinance shall take effect and
le in force on the thirty-first day from and after its adoption.
SECTION 4. - PUBLICATION - The City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad
s hereby directed to cause this Ordinance to be published once in the
arlsbad Journal, a newspaper published and of general circulation in said
i ty of Carl s bad.
FIRST READ at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
,arlsbad, held on the 6th day of February, 1973, and finally passed,
Ipproved and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council on the
0th day of February ,1973, by the following vote, to wit;
