ORDINANCE NO. 3104
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFOl?XIA, AMENDING
TITLE 10, CHAPTER 10.44, OF THE CARLSBAD
MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE AMENDMENT OF SECTIONS
10.44.040 AfJD 10.44.050 AND BY ADDITION
OF SECTION 10.44.060 TO ESTABLISH PRIjvIA
FACIE SPEED LIMITS ON PORTIONS OF CHESTNUT
AVENUE, JEFFERSON SREET AND EL CAMINO REAL.
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad does ordain as
follows :
SECTION 1: That Title 10, Chapter 10.44, of the Carlsbad
Municipal Code is amended by the amendment of Sections 10.44.040
and 10.44.050 and by the addition of Section 10.44.060 to read
as fol-lows:
"10.44.040 Chestnut Avenue. The prima facie speed limit on Chestnut Avenue from its intersection with Pi0 Pic0 Drive to
its intersection with El Camino Real is determined and declared
to be thirty-five milesper hour."
"10.44.050 Jefferson --.. Street. The prima facie speed limit on Jefferson Street with its intersection with Grand Avenue to
the northerly City boundary is hereby determined and declared to be thirty-five miles per hour.r'
"10.44.060 El Camino Real. The prima facie speed limit on El Camino Real for all City-owned portions from a point 500 feet
north of its intersection with Elm Avenue to a point 500 feet
south of its intersection with Arena1 Road is hereby determined
and declared to be fifty-five miles per hour.'I
EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty
days after its adoption, and the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this ordinance and cause it to be published at least
once in the Carlsbad Journal within fifteen days after its
adoption.
