ORDINANCE NO. 11 9@
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, TO AMEND
CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION 2.44.030.
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, does
xdain as follows:
SECTION 1: Carlsbad Municipal Code Section 2-44.030 is
iereby amended to read as follows:
The provisions of this chapter shall
Lpply to all offices, positions and employments in the service of :he city, except:
2.44.030 City service.
(1) Elective officers;
(2) Members of appointive boards, commissions and committees;
(3) Persons engaged under contract to supply expert, ?rofessional or technical services for a definite period of time;
(4) Volunteer personnel who receive no regular compensation Erom the city; (5) City manager: (6) Assistant city manager; (7) Assistant to the city manager;
(8) Administrative assistants;
(9) All department heads hired on or after November 1, 1975;
Emergency employees who are hired to meet the immediate
(10) Redevelopment Coordinator
(11) City attorney;
(12) requirements of an emergency condition, such as extra-ordinary
fire, flood or earthquake which threatens life or property;
(13) Employees, other than those listed elsewhere in this
section, who are employed less than half time, which is defined
as employees who are expected to or do work less than one thousand
forty hours in any one fiscal year.
EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty day:
after its adoption,.and the City Clerk shall certify to the adoptic
of this ordinance and cause it to be published at least once in thc
Carlsbad Journal within fifteen days after its adoption.
INTRODUCED AND FIRST READ at a meeting of the Carlsbad City
Council held on the 16th day of November , 1976, and
