ORDINANCE NO. 1225
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 2,
CHAPTERS 2.44 and 2.48 OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL
CODE BY THE AMENDMENT OF SECTIONS 2.44.030 and
2.48.030 TO PROVIDE FOR THE ADDITION OF THE
POSITION OF HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR AS AN EXEMPT MANAGEMENT POSITION,
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California hereby
xdains as follows:
SECTION 1: That Title 2, Chapter 2.44 of the Carlsbad
Yunicipal Code is amended by the amendment of Section 2.44.030
to read as follows:
2.44.030 City service. The provisions of this chapter shall spply to all offices, positions and employments in the service Df the city, except:
( 1) Elective officers;
( 2) Members of appointive boards, commissions and committees,
( 3) Persons engaged under contract to supply expert, pro-
( 4) Volunteer personnel who receive no regular compensation
( 5) City manager;
( 6) Assistant city manager;
( 7) Assistant to the city manager;
( 8) Administrative assistants;
( 9) All department heads hired on or after November 1, 1975;
(10) Housing and Redevelopment Director;
(11) City attorney;
(12) Assistant city attorney;
(13) requirements of any emergency condition, such as extra-ordinary fire, flood or earthquake which threatens life or property;
(14) Employees, other than those listed elsewhere in this section, who are employed less than half time, which is defined as employees who are expected to or do work less than one thousand forty hours in any one fiscal year. (Ord. 1211 Sec. 1,

Fire Chief;
Housing and Redevelopment Director; Library Director License Supervisor; Parks and Recreation Director; Parks Superintendent; Personnel Director; Plan Check Inspector; Planning Director; Police Captain; Police Chief; Police Lieutenant; Principal Civil Engineer; Principal Planner; Public Works Administrator;
Purchasing Officer;
Recreation Superintendent;
Maintenance Superintendent;
Utilities Maintenance Hanager; Utilities and Maintenance Sup erin t enden t
