AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 21, CHAPTER
21.04 OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE
AMENDMENT OF SECTION 21,04,145 TO REDEFINE
FAM I LY .
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California,
does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1: That Title 21, Chapter 21-04 of the
Zarlsbad Municipal Code is amended by the amendment of Section
21.04.145 to read as follows:
"21 -04,145 Family. "Family" means a reasonable number
Df persons who constitute a bonafide single housekeeping unit.
Residents and operators of a residential care facility serving six or fewer persons shall be considered a family for purposes
Df any zoning regulation relating to residential use of such
facilities .
EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective
thirty days after its adoption, and the City Clerk shall certify
to the adoption of this ordinance and cause it to be published
at least once in the Carlsbad Journal within fifteen days after
its adopt ion ,
INTRODUCED AND FIRST READ at a meeting of the Carlsbad
City Council held on the 7th day of July , 1981,
and thereafter
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a meeting of said City Council
held on the 21st day of JdY , 1981 by the
following vote, to wit:
AYES : Council Menibers Packard, Casler, Anear, Lewis and Kdchin.
ABSENT: None
