AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA AMENDING TITLE 5, CHAPTER 5.12 OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE
AMENDMENT OF SECTION 5.12.070(2) TO REVISE THE
REGULATIONS FOR CARDROOMS TO PERMIT THE GAME
PANQUINQUE.
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California
does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1 : That Title 5, Chapter 5.12 of the Carlsbad
Municipal Code is amended by the amendment of Section
5.12.070(2) to read as follows:
"(2) No game except pinochle, low-ball draw poker, draw poker, panquinque, without variation as defined by Hoyle, contraci
or auction bridge, shall be played in any cardroom;"
EFFECTIVE DATE: This Ordinance shall be effective thirt!
days after its adoption and the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this ordinance and cause it to be published at least
once in the Carlsbad Journal within fifteen days after its
adopt ion.
INTRODUCED AND FIRST READ at a regular meeting of the
Carlsbad City Council held on the 5th day of July , 1983
and thereafter
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of said City
Council held on the 2nd day of August , 1983 by the
following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council 243tkers Casler, Ku1ch.h and Prescott
NOES: Council M&x?rs Lewis and Chick
ABSENT: None
