ORDINANCE NO. 6073
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA AMENDING TITLE 5, CHAPTER
5.04 OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE
AMENDMENT OF SECTION 5.04.020 TO CAUSE ALL
LICENSES TO BE EFFECTIVE FOR ONE YEAR FROM DATE OF ISSUE, AND REMOVING ALL REFERENCE TO CALENDAR
YEAR LICENSING.
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California
does hereby ordain as follows:
SECTION 1: That Title 5, Chapter 5.04 of the Carlsbad
Municipal Code is amended by the amendment of Section 5.04.020
to replace the second sentence which reads:
"The license tax shall be due and payable before the
commencement of any new business and deliquent on and after the thirty-first day after commencement of a new business; and in advance, annually, on Janury 1st and delinquent on and after the tenth day of February of each year for all previously established businesses."
with the following sentences:
"The license tax shall be due and payable before the
commencement of any new business and deliquent on and after the thirty-first day after commencement of a new business. For all previously licensed businesses the license tax shall be due and
payable annually in advance on the first day of the month in which the business was originally established and deliquent on
the tenth day of the following month."
SECTION 2: This ordinance being an ordinance relating
to taxes for usual and current expenses of the City, pursuant to
Section 36937(d) of the Government Code, shall take effect
immediately upon its passage. Before the expiration of fifteen
days after its passage, this ordinance shall be published once
in the Carlsbad Journal, a newspaper of general circulation
printed and published in the City of Carlsbad.

INTRODUCED AND FIRST READ at a meeting of the Carlsbad
City Council held on the 11th day of October , 1983,
and thereafter
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a meeting of said City Council
held on the 18th day of October , 1983, by the
following vote, to wit:
