1271 ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA AMENDING TITLE 2, CHAPTER
2.08 OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE
ADDITION OF SECTION 2.08.090 TO REQUIRE THAT
APPOINTEES TO ALL BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS BE
UNITED STATES CITIZENS.
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California
does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1: That Title 2, Chapter 2.08 of the Carlsbal
Municipal Code is amended by the addition of Section 2.08.090 to
read as follows:
"2.08.090 Board and Commission Members - Citizenship
It shall be a prerequisite to appointment to any of Required.
the City's boards and commissions that the applicant for any
such position be a citizen of the United States of America."
EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective
thirty days after its adoption, and the City Clerk shall certify
to the adoption of this ordinance and cause it to be published
at least once in the Carlsbad Journal within fifteen days after
its adoption.
INTRODUCED AND FIRST READ at a regular meeting of the
Carlsbad City Council held on the 15th day of my I
1984 and thereafter
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of said City
Council held on the 5th day of June , 1984 by the
following vote, to wit:
AYES : Council "krs Casler, Lewis, Kulchin, Chick and Prescott
NOES: None
