ORDINANCE NO. 401 7
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 14,
CHAPTER 14.16 OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE
BY THE AMENDMENT OF SECTION 14.16.130 AND BY THE ADDITION OF SECTION 14.16.140 TO ESTABLISH A FEE FOR NON-PAYMENT OF WATER BILLS.
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California does ordain as
ollows :
Section 1: That Title 14, Chapter 14.16 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code is
.mended by the amendment of Section 14.16.130 and by the addition of Section
4.16.140 to read as follows:
14.16.130 Loan Meters: The Water Department of the City of Carlsbad
iay connect a loan meter to any water service or service pipe upon proper
.pplication. A charge of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) per meter per service location
6th a deposit of Three Hundred Fifty Dollars ($350.00) shall be made for loan
ieters. The deposit will be refunded after the meter is returned in good working
rder complete with fittings, and all bills pertaining thereto are paid. The
ieter will be installed and removed by city employees, Any damage caused to
.he meter by the negligence or carelessness of any person to whom a meter is
.oaned must be paid on demand. Water delivered through a loan meter will be
:barged at the usual city rates, including stand-by charges. An additional
:harge of Twenty Dollars ($20.00) will be charged upon each request to have a
.oan meter relocated.
14.16.140 Fee for Non-Payment of Water Bills: A fee of Twenty Dollars
($20.00) to reinstate service that has been discontinued due to non-payment
3f water bill is hereby established.

EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty days (30)
after its adoption, and the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this ordinance and cause it to be published at least once in the Carlsbad
Journal within fifteen days (15) after adoption.
INTRODUCED AND FIRST READ at a regular meeting of the City of
Carlsbad City Council held on the 18th day of September , 1984,
and thereafter,
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of said City Council held on
the 25th , day of Septe;mber, 1984 by the following vote, to wit:
