AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA AMENDING TITLE: 1, CHAPTER 1.20
OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE AMENDMENT OF
SECTION 1.20.060 TO REVISE THE PROCEDURES FOR
COUNCIL ORIGINATED AGENDA ITEMS
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California
ordain as follows:
SECTION I: That Title 1, Chapter 1.20, Section 1.20.0
the Carlsbad Municipal Code is amended by the amendmen
subsection (a) and (b) to read as follows:
'*(a) An agenda shall be prepared for each council met containing the time and place of the meeting, the order of bus and a general description, including the specific action requl to be taken by the council, for each item of business t transacted or discussed at the meeting. Items of business mi placed on the agenda by the direction of a member of the cou. the city manager or the city attorney. Council originated shall be submitted to the city manager by Friday, twelve days : to the scheduled council meeting. The city manager shall pro1
give copies to the other members of the city council for 1 review and comment. Comments must be returned to the city mal by Wednesday, seven days prior to the scheduled council meel The city manager shall include any such comments as a part 01 agenda item. If time constraints require it the mayor may ap] expedited processing for a council originated item provided cc are made available to the other members of the council, the attorney and the city manager as soon as the item is prepared to the extent possible, any comments received shall be incorpor; Agenda items, including ordinances, resolutions, contracts, : reports or other matters to be submitted to the council, sha:
delivered to the city clerk not later than five p.m. on
Wednesday preceding the regular meeting. The clerk shall there;
prepare an agenda packet under the direction of the city man{ The agenda packet shall be delivered to the council members 01 Friday preceding the regular meeting. The agenda packet sha; made available to the public as soon thereafter as practicablc (b) All agenda items, ordinances, resolutions and cont documents shall, before presentation to the council, have approved as to form and legality by the city attorney or authorized representative, and shall have been examined and app~ for administration by the city manager or his authorized representative, where there are substantive matters administration involved.
