NS-152 2 3 4 5 6 7 a AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTED AS AN URGENCY ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 11, CHAPTER 11.32 OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE AMENDMENT OF SECTION 11.32.070 TO ALLOW LAW ENFORCEMENT BICYCLES ON THE SEAWALL The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California does 9 11 ordain as follows: lo I1 SECTION: 1 : That Title 11, Chapter 11 -32 of the Carlsbad 11 It l2 I1 Municipal Code is amended by the amendment of Section 11.32.070 13 // to read as follows: 14 15 16 17 18 19 I 2o I "The Carlsbad seawall sidewalk at the base of the bluff adjacent to Carlsbad State Beach between Tamarack Avenue and Pine Street shall be limited to pedestrians only. No person shall skate or use or ride any rollerskate, coaster, skateboard, bicycle, toy vehicle or any other form of transportation on the Carlsbad seawall sidewalk. Law enforcement personnel shall be exempt from the provision of this section when in the performance of their duties." DECLARATION OF URGENCY: This ordinance is hereby declared 21 22 to be an emergency ordinance adopted as an urgency measure to 23 start of the Police Department Bicycle Patrol Program on E!5 immediately upon its adoption. This is necessary due to the 24 protect the public health, safety and welfare and shall take effect 26 27 May 25, 1991. 28 lI 0. /I 0 0 & (I EFFECTIVE: This ordinance shall be effective immediately 1 2 3 upon passage.
