AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARL:
CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 10 OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CO[
THE ADDITION OF CHAPTER 10.58 TO PROHIBIT SKATEBOARDING h
CERTAIN AREAS OF THE CIN
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, does ordain as follows
SECTION 1 : That Title 10 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code is amended by the ac

10.58.01 0 skateboarding prohibited in certain areas.
It is unlawful for any person to ride a skateboard on private property open
public in a general commercial zone, a neighborhood commercial zone, or in the \
redevelopment zone where signs prohibiting such activity are posted by the owner
property.
10.58.020 skateboarding Prohibited - Where
It is unlawful for any person to ride a skateboard in the public parking lot c
northwest corner of State Street and Grand Avenue, in the public parking lot on
Street between Carlsbad Village Drive and Oak Avenue, or in the public sculpturc
between Oak Avenue and Pine Avenue, west of Carlsbad Boulevard.
10.58.030 Council Mav Reaulate or Prohibit bv Resolution
In addition to the general regulations imposed by this chapter, the City C
may adopt a resolution regulating or prohibiting the use of skateboards on spt
public property or public right-of-ways upon the placement of appropriate signs."
EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty days after its adoption, ar
City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and cause it to be published ai
once in the Carlsbad Journal within fifteen days after its adoption.
