NS-209 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARL: CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 18 BY THE AMENDMENT OF CHAPTER 1 TO ADOPT BY REFERENCE THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE (1991 ED1 AND THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE STANDARDS (1991 EDITION). The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, does ordain as follov SECTION 1 : Whereas, the City of Carlsbad is supplied with water and se' 7 show which seismic zone contains the City of Carlsbad. Apartment houses and other residential buildings, having an aggregate floc exceeding 10,000 square feet, may be protected by an approved automal sprinkler system conforming to UBC standard 38-3 when they are one or two in height and contain fewer than 16 dwelling units. Such automatic sprinkler s\ shall not be considered as the basis for increasing the allowable area of a builc for exemption from any other Uniform Building Code requirement.
