ORDINANCE NO. NS-317
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA APPROVING SPECIFIC PLAN SP 19(G) FOR AN AMENDMENT TO THE EXISTING SPECIFIC PLAN TO REGULATE SIGNAGE ON PROPERTY GENERALLY LOCATED BETWEEN CANNON ROAD AND PALOMAR AIRPORT ROAD. CASE NAME: AMENDMENT TO CAR COUNTRY

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California has revie1
SPECIFIC PLAN SIGN REGULATIONS
considered a Specific Plan Amendment for future development of the site; and
WHEREAS, after procedures in accordance with the requirements of law, 1
Council has determined that the public interest indicates that said plan be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, The City Council of the City of Carlsbad does 01
follows:
SECTION I: That Ordinance No. NS 315 on June 20, 1995, is amendec
addition of a new Subsection "G to read as follows:
"G, Signs on Dealerships immediately adiacent to Interstate 5 Notwithstanding 21.41.036 10(A and (B) and 21.41.010(3)(B) of the Carlsbad Municipal Code, the fa regulations shal 2 apply:
1. Dealers whose lots are immediately adjacent to Interstate 5 may have wall II: or fascia signs only, facing the freeway, subject to the following requirements:
a. Such signs shall be wall-mounted or fascia signs only. Signs perpendic at an angle to the building are prohibited.
b. Signs shall not exceed the height of the building on which located. mounted signs are prohibited.
c. Such signs shall not be larger than one square foot per linear foot of fi of the buildings facing Interstate 5. The area for these signs is in add other signs permitted for the dealership and shall not be used to ci permitted sign area for other signs as set forth in (IV)(B) above.
d. The maximum height dimension of such signs shall not exceed one 1 the height of the building elevation on which it is placed."
2. The procedure by which permits for such signage shall be obtained is set f (IV)(A)(l-3) and (E) above.

INTRODUCED AND FIRST READ at a regular meeting of the (
City Council on the 11 th day of JULY , 1995, and thereafter
EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty days
adoption; and the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and ca
be published at least once in a newspaper of general circulation within fifteen days
~ adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of said City Council
the 18th day of JULY , 1995, by the following vote, to wit:
