ORDINANCE NO. NS-487
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING THE CARLSABD
CORPORATE PLAZA SPECIFIC PLAN AMENDMENT RELATIVE
TO ALLOWED USES AND DEVELOPMENT STANDARDS ON
PROPERTY GENERALLY LOCATED SOUTH OF PASEO DEL
NORTE AND WEST OF CAMINO DEL PARQUE IN LOCAL
FACILITIES MANAGEMENT ZONE 4.
CASE NAME: CARLSBAD CORPORATE PLAZA
CASE NO.: SP 23(H)
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California has r(
considered a Specific Plan Amendment to establish allowed uses and developme1
for the site: and
WHEREAS, SP 23 was adopted by City Council Ordinance No. 92:
07, 1972, and constitutes the zoning for the subject property; and
WHEREAS, SP 23 has been amended a total of seven times s
adoption, most recently for SP 23(G) through City Council Ordinance No. NS-437 o
16, 1998; and
WHEREAS, after procedures in accordance with requirements of
City Council has determined that the public interest indicates that said plan am
approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, Cal
ordain as follows:
SECTION I: That SP 23 as amended to date is further amef
Specific Plan Amendment relative to the Carlsbad Corporate Plaza Exhibit “A, d
1999, attached hereto and incorporated by reference herein, is approved. I
standards are hereby established as those found in Section 21.34.070 of t
Municipal Code. The Specific Plan Amendment shall constitute the zoning for this
all development and use of the property shall conform to the plan.
SECTION II: That the findings and conditions of the Planning Cc
set forth in Planning Commission Resolutions No. 4517 shall also constitute the

adoption, and the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and ca
published at least once in a publication of general circulation in the City of Car

Intent and Purpose
The intent and purpose of the Specific Plan is to provide an area of low-intensity busine
and professional offices which are in operation during standard business hours, 8 a.m.
5 p.m. Monday through Friday, are not dependent on either street or fieeway frontage f;
signage identification, and usually limit client visits through appointments.

Accountants
Administrative and Executive Offices
Advertising Agencies
Architects, Planners, and Engineers
Attorneys
Banks and other Financial Institutions without drive-thru facilities
Company and Corporate Headquarters
Commercial Artists
Dentists, doctors, chiropractors up to a site maximum of 6,000 square feet
Electronic Data Processing and Record-Keeping Services
General Contractor (Offices only, no storage of equipment or materials)
Government Offices
Insurance Agencies
Labor Union Offices (no hiring halls)
Management Consultants
Offices, Business, and Professional
Photographers
Real Estate and Related Services
Signs subject to the provisions of Chapter 21.41
Stockbrokers
Title and Trust Companies
Travel Agencies
Other uses similar to those listed above which the Planning Director may determine 1
fall within the intent and purposes of this Specific Plan, are of comparable nature, a~
will not be detrimental to property in the vicinity.
