ORDINANCE NO. NS-5 11
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE IO, CHAPTER 10.44, OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE AMENDMENT OF SECTION 10.44.070 TO ESTABLISH A PRIMA FACIE 55 MILE PER HOUR SPEED LIMIT UPON LA COSTA AVENUE FROM INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 5 TO ITS
INTERSECTION WITH EL CAMINO REAL.
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, hereby ordains as follows:
SECTION 1: That Title IO, Chapter 10.44, of the Carlsbad Municipal Code is ,

8 by the revision of Section 10.44.070 to read as follows:
9 “1 0.44.070 La Costa Avenue:
a. Upon La Costa Avenue from El Camino Real to a point one
miles per hour.
b. Upon La Costa Avenue from a point one thousand feet easterly
prima facie speed limit shall be forty-five miles per hour.
10 thousand feet easterly the prima facie speed limit shall be thirty-five

12 of El Camino Real to its intersection with Camino de 10s Coches the

c. Upon La Costa Avenue from Interstate Highway 5 to its intersection with El Camino Real the prima facie speed limit shall be fifty-five miles per hour.”
15 EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after it

be published at least once in a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Carls 17
and the City Clerk, City of Carlsbad, shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and

fifteen (I 5) days after its adoption.
INTRODUCED AND FIRST READ at a regular meeting of said City Council t

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad C
held on the 2nd day of November , 1999 by the following vote, to wit:
