AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA AMENDING SECTION
2.04.010 OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE
AMENDMENT OF TO INCREASE THE COMPENSATION
OF THE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY

The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California does ordain i
SECTION 1: That section 2.04.010 of the Carlsbad Municipz
amended to read as follows:
“2.04.01 0 ComDensation.
(I) Each member of the City Council shall receive as salary tl
$600 per month as authorized by Section 36516 of the Government Code
over 75,000 and up to and including 150,000 in population plus the sum of
month, which represents increases of 5% per year for each calendar yea1
operative date of the last adjustment of salary, for a total of $992 per month I
the same time and in the same manner as salaries are paid to other of
employees of the City.
(2) The salaries established by this section are exclusive of an!
payable to each member of the City Council as reimbursement for actual and 1
expenses incurred in the performance of official duties for the City.
(3) Salary increases pursuant to this section shall become oper
on and after the date upon which one or more members of the City Counc
eligible pursuant to Section 36516.5 of the Government Code for a’salary in1
virtue of beginning a new term of office following amendment of this section.”
EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty daj
adoption, and the City Clerk shall certify the adoption of this ordinance and c
be published at least once in a newspaper of general circulation in the City 01
within fifteen days after its adoption.
INTRODUCED AND FIRST READ at a regular meeting of the
