AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 10, CHAPTER 10.44, OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE AMENDMENT OF
SECTION 10.44.380 TO ESTABLISH A PRIMA FACIE 45 MILE PER
HOUR SPEED LIMIT UPON CANNON ROAD FROM PASEO DEL
NORTE TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH FARADAY AVENUE.
6 The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, hereby ordains as follows:
7 SECTION 1: That Title 10, Chapter 10.44, of the Carlsbad Municipal Code is amended
6 by the revision of Section 10.44.380 to read as follows:
9 “1044.380 Cannon Road:
a.

Upon Cannon Road from Carlsbad Boulevard to its
intersection with Paseo Del Norte, the prima facie speed limit shall
11
be thirty-five miles per hour.
b. 12 Upon Cannon Road from Paseo Del Norte to its intersection
with Faraday Avenue, the prima facie speed limit shall be forty-five miles per hour.”
14 EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after its adoption
and the City Clerk, City of Carlsbad, shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and cause it to
15 be published at least once in a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Carlsbad within
16 fifteen (15) days after its adoption.
17 INTRODUCED AND FIRST READ at a regular meeting of said City Council held on the
16 5th day Of December ,2000, and thereafter,
19 PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City Council
20 held on the 12th dayof December (2000 by the following vote, to wit:
21 AYES: Council Members Lewis, Hall, Finnila, Nygaard and Kulchin.
