ORDINANCE NO. NS-722
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 10, CHAPTER
10.44, OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE
AMENDMENT OF SECTION 10.44.340 TO ESTABLISH A
PRIMA FACIE 40 MILE PER HOUR SPEED LIMIT UPON
CALLE BARCELONA FROM THE SOUTH CITY LIMIT TO ITS
INTERSECTION WITH EL CAMINO REAL.
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, hereby ordains as follows:
SECTION 1 : That Title 10, Chapter 10.44, of the Carlsbad Municipal Code is amended
iy the revision of Section 10.44.340 to read as follows:
"1 0.44.340 Calle Barcelona:
a. Upon Calle Barcelona from the south city limit to its
intersection with El Camino Real, the prima facie speed limit
shall be forty miles per hour.
b. Upon Calle Barcelona from El Camino Real to its
intersection with Rancho Santa Fe Road, the prima facie speed
limit shall be forty-five miles per hour.
C. Upon Calle Barcelona from Rancho Santa Fe Road to its
intersection with Calle Acervo, the prima facie speed limit shall
be thirty miles per hour."
EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after its adoption and
he City Clerk, City of Carlsbad, shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and cause it to be
Iublished at least once in a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Carlsbad within fifteen
15) days after its adoption.

INTRODUCED AND FIRST READ at a regular meeting of said City Council held on the
28th dayof September ,2004, and thereafter,
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City Council
held on the 5th day of October , 2004 by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Finnila, Kulchin, Hall and Packard.
