MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
July 3, 1972
is agreed by and between the Administrative Office of the City Carlsbad and the Carlsbad City Employees' Association that the
llowing changes and improvements in compensation and benefits for miscellaneous employees represented by the association are
mutually agreed upon for submission to the Carlsbad City Council
for Fiscal Year 1972-73 as follows:

Bereavement leave will be given to all personnel in the amount of three (3) days because of death in the
immediate family. is in addition to and does not affect regular sick
leave accrued at the rate of one (1) day per month.
This will be emergency sick leave,
A sickness and accident-disability policy to cover
long term sickness and accident disability will be
paid by the City for employees only.
A committee of five (5) --three (3) miscellaneous employees, the Personnel Director and the Personnel Secretary-- will research an education-incentive plan for the miscel- laneous employees; a suggested date of implementation is
January 1, 1973.
Exhibit A proposes salary range adjustments for various
miscellaneous classifications to meet an average as revealed by salary survey dated February 1972.
Management agrees to consider overall salary adjustments
for January 1, 1973, if funds are available.
