To ensure tlie highest levels of quality and accuracy, our translation process involves 3 separate steps: Step #1: Translation: 1st linguist translates original English text into target language. When no electronic word count is available, CTS LanguageLink shall provide a rough estimate based on the anticipated word count. However, CTS LanguageLink shall not be held responsible for discrepancies between projected and actual word count. Piease note that depending on target language and scope of project, such discrepancies can be significant WORD COUNT: Amounts quoted above are based on the estimated source word count and required delivery specifications. For projects where electronic source files are unavailable, translation will be charged on target word count irrespective of the projected estimate. In an effort to provide consistency in the quote, amount per word will be itemized as a non-variable. CHANGES AND REVISIONS: Changes to the source material(s) by the Client following acceptance of this proposal may affect the quoted price and will be billed accordingly. Revisions to document(s) may be subject to a revised quote. VOLUME DISCOUNTS: Volume discount plans are available for companies and organizations with an ongoing need for translation services. If your department or another division/department of your company has a need for translation of documentation and materials on a regular basis, please ask your CTS LanguageLink representative about our volume discount programs. LINGUISTIC EXPECTATIONS: The translated document must convey the original message in the target language and may require an adaptation for appropriate cultural context. To do this correctly requires the translators and editors to have fluency in both languages and an expertise in the subject matter. In certain cases, CTS LanguageLink may request clarification or assistance in developing a glossary of terms to maintain the integrity ofthe terminology. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY: Client attests that the provided source material to be translated and/or voiced is not protected intellectual property or, if it is protected intellectual property, that Client has secured the appropriate licensing rights to translate and/or voice said material. FONT POLICY: All production fonts must be properly licensed. In the event the Client is using a font that CTS LanguageLink does not have in its font library, CTS LanguageLink will substitute a similar font. If the Client requires a specific font for company branding, image, or documentation design or layout, CTS LanguageLink can purchase the necessary font license(s). Establishing the correct fonts is part of the quote process. For more detailed information, please contact your CTS LanguageLink representative. AUDIOVISUAL PROJECTS: Rates include full buyouts and become the property of Client. Audiovisual (AV) flies remain the property of CTS LanguageLink until paid in full. A 24-hour cancellation notice is required for all AV recording assignments. In the absence of such notices, voice talent, director, and studio supervisor fees will be charged in full. Studio fees, or a portion thereof, may also be assessed. REVIEW POLICY: Client shall have the option to review proof of translation. To exercise this prerogative, CTS LanguageLink must be notified at the start of the project Client shall have 30 days to submit edits/changes after the delivery of the project If the request for edits/changes cannot be made within the 30 day timeline. Client shall notify CTS LanguageLink of the need for an extension. Any edits/changes submitted after 30 days, without prior notification to CTS LanguageLink, will incur additional fees. Any changes to the source material or extensive changes conveying mere stylistic preferences will also incur additional charges. Requested edits/changes after the first proof may incur additional charges. Should Client decide not to exercise their rights for review, although CTS LanguageLink makes every attempt to ensure accuracy in all projects, we assume no obligation for possible errors, omissions, or inaccuracies that may be delivered undetected. With the exception of replacing the text deemed inaccurate, CTS LanguageLink is not responsible for any costs that may occur due to printing, distribution, or other costs that may be incurred as a result of receiving an inaccurate translation. TURNAROUND TIME: Turnaround time is always relative to current production load. Project timelines for quote approvals received after 2:00PM (Pacific Standard time) will start the next business day. Included in the quote price is delivery of digital files plus one set of hard copies (upon Client's request only). Storage medium (CD/DVD, extemal drives, etc.) will be billed separately. RUSH SERVICE: Rush or expedited services are available upon request If a shorter turnaround time is required, additional rush charges may apply. Contact your CTS LanguageLink representative for additional information. FILE MANAGEMENT: Request for digital archives 6 months after completion of the project will be billed at $50 per file. Cost of delivery other than via regular mail shall be borne by Client. CANCELLATION POLICY: In case of cancellation after start of project, Client shall be responsible for all incun-ed expenses. INVOICING: Final Invoice will be sent upon delivery of all translated files. PAYMENT TERMS: Net 30 for existing accounts with approved credit application. C.O.D. (Collect On Delivery) for new accounts. Net 30 terms may be extended upon completion of a credit application and submission of credit card reference as a bona fide warrant Credit card shall be debited if Client fails to meet the specified payment terms. 2. All projects exceeding $5,000 require a 40% deposit via credit card or check, with the balance due Net 30. Project delivery will not occur until CTS LanguageLink has received deposit. 3. We offer a 2% discount for invoices greater than $250 paid in advance and/or paid on a Net 10 basis. The 2% discount does not apply to invoices paid by credit card. 4. For your convenience, CTS LanguageLink accepts Visa, MasterCard and Discover. The maximum allowable credit card charge is $8,000 per month.
