1. Maintenance and adjustment of existing facilities.
2. Cut-off service and cap at main (trench 3x3x3).
3. Service installation of 150* or less of street crossing.
4. Applicant installed system tie-ins (trench 3x3x3).
5. Raise/lower valve boxes, anode installations, cathodic work.
6. Pottings to locate facilities.
7. Regulator stations and main extensions/bring ups of no more
than 50' in length (2x2x2 or 3x2x2 trench size).
8. Tie-ins of customer installed systems (trench 3x3x3).
9. Street repair activities associated with all activities
included in the Annual Operating Permit.
UNDERGROUND
1. Replacement of existing facilities above ground.
2. Installation of new structures above ground up to 100 square ft.
3. Service runs from cable pole to property line of 50' or less
in length.
4. Service runs crossing a street of 150' or less.
5. Tie-ins of customer installed systems.
6. Pulling cable laying conduit in customer provided trenches
(48 hours advance notice plus traffic control plans .if necessary)
7. Maintenance and adjustment of existing facilities.
OVERHEAD
1. Replacement, maintenance and adjustment of all existing /
facilities (up to 300' on overhead 6able replacement).
2. Right to trim trees/bushes.as deemed necessary to prevent
danger or hazard to all utility facilities, property or persons.

GENERAL NOTES:
All traffic control devices must conform with the latest edition
of CALTRANS Traffic Manual.
The City Engineer or his representative has the authority to
initiate field changes to assure public safety.
All traffic control devices shall be removed from view when not
in use.
Work hours to be restricted to 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. unless
approved otherwise.
Trenches must be backfilled or plated during non-working hours.
Temporary "NO PARKING" signs will be posted 24 hours prior to
commencing work.
Access will be maintained to all driveways or other arrangements
made.
Traffic signal loop detectors will be replaced by the contractor
wihtln 24 hours, if damaged.
Striping will be replaced by tha contractor within 24 hours, if
removed or damaged.
Flaggers shall be equipped with a hard hat, orange vest and a
C28 "STOP/SLOW" paddle.
Work that disturbs normal traffic signal operations shall be
coordinated with the City of Carlsbad 48 hours prior to
beginning construction.
All traffic control devices must be maintained 24 hours per day,
7 days 'per week by the contractor.
Safe pedestrian and bike access lanes shall be provided at all
times. Lanes shall be protected with delineators, appropriate
signs, plates as required for safe passage.
Flashing arrow board shall be used whenever an existing lane of
traffic is relocated - typical on collector/arterial streete.

GENERAL NOTES:
All traffic control devices must conform with the latest edition
of CALTRANS Traffic Manual.
The City Engineer or his representative has the authority to
Initiate field changes to assure public safety.
All traffic control devices shall be removed from view when not
in use.
Work hours to be restricted to 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. unless
approved otherwise.
Trenches Bust be backfilled or plated during non-working hours.
Temporary "No PARKING" signs will be posted 24 hours prior to
commencing work.
Acc»s« will be maintained to all driveways or other arrangements
made.
Traffic signal loop detectors will be replaced by the contractor
wihtln 24 hours, if damaged.
Striping will be replaced by the contractor within 24 hours, if
removed or damaged.
Flaggers shall be equipped with a hard hat, orange vest and a
C28 "STOP/SLOW" paddle.
Work that disturbs normal traffic signal operations shall be
coordinated with the city of Carlsbad 48 hours prior to
beginning construction.
All traffic control devices must be maintained 24 hours per day,
7 days per week by the contractor.
Safe pedestrian and bike access lanes shall be provided at all
times. Lanes shall be protected with delineators, appropriate
signs, plates as required for safe passage.
Flashing arrow board shall be used whenever an existing lane of
traffic is relocated - typical on collector/arterial streets.

INSTALLATION:
A. ATTACH A YELLOW PLASTIC GAS MARKER TO THE END OF THE GAS SERVICE AND EXTEND
ABOVE GRADE.
B. BRING THE YELLOW TRACER WIRE UP FROM THE POLY GAS SERVICE STUB AND TAPE IT
TO THE YELLOW MARKER AT GRADE LEVEL. CUT THE TRACER WIRE 2' ABOVE GRADE
AND COIL AROUND THE MARKER AT GRADE LEVEL. SEAL TIP OF THE TRACER WIRE
WITH AQUA-SEAL AND ELECTRICAL TAPE TO PREVENT GROUNDING.
C. A 3-M EMS II MINI MARKER WILL BE INSTALLED AT EACH STUB IN ACCORDANCE WITH
REFERENCE D.
