PERMIT This permit shaU be kept at the site of the work and must be shown to any authorized rep- resentative of the County of San Diego, or law enforcement officer. 2. PROTECTION OF TRAFFIC Adequate provision shall be maintained to protect the traveling pubUc. Barricades, red lights, and warning signs shaU be maintained, together with flagmen where required; and ap- proaches to private driveways and intersecting roads shaU be kept open to traffic at all times. 3. LOCATION OF PIPES Sewer pipe shaU be placed in accordance with the provisions of County Ordinance No. 109 (new series). AU pipes and conduits laid parallel to the roadway shall be placed at least 5 feet from the edge of the pavement or graded traveled roadway, and all such pipes or conduits shaU have a minimum covering of two <2) feet. It is expressly understood in the granting of this permit that in case of reconstruction or maintenance of the road by the County, and it becomes necessary to lower, move or remove the instaUation provided herein, that, upon request of the County Road Commissioner, the same shaU be lowered, moved or removed at the expense of the permittee. 4v BACKFILL AU backfUl shaU be moistened and well tamped. 5. REPLACING SURFACE MATERIAL After the trench has been properly backfiUed, any surfacing which has been removed or destroyed shall be replaced at the expense of the Permittee and to the satisfaction of the County Road Commissioner. PROTECTION OF COUNTY FROM DAMAGE The said Permittee shaU idemnify and the County of San Diego harmless from any dam^age, cost or expense, or claim for damage, cost or expense, arising either directly, indirectiy, or conse- quentiaUy from the lying of said pipe line. 8.
