HomeMy WebLinkAbout2009-06-01; Agricultural Conversion Mitigation Fee Committee Ad Hoc; ; Committee Schedule for Grant Evaluation and Future Meeting DatesSubject: Meeting Date: June 1, 2009 Agenda Item #7 CITY OF CARLSBAD AGRICULTURAL COVNERSION MITIGATION FEE AD HOC CITIZENS' ADVISORY COMMITTEE Committee Schedule for Grant Evaluation and Future Meeting Dates June 1, 2009 According to the Committee's tentative schedule, established in the revised method approved by City Council for the Committee to carry out its directive, the Committee is expected to review and evaluate grant applications during the months of May and June, formulate its recommendations in early July and present its recommendations to City Council in early August 2009. Committee meetings have been scheduled for the review and evaluation of grant applications on June 1 and June 15, 2009 from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the City's Faraday Center at 1635 Faraday Avenue, Carlsbad, CA 92008 in Room 173A. Any future meeting dates beyond the June ·1st and June 15th meetings that would be necessary for the Committee's review and evaluation of grant applications may be established by the Committee based on the availability of the individual Committee members, the facilitator and staff. Enclosed with this transmittal you will find copies of the 13 Agricultural Conversion Mitigation Fee grant applications received during the 2009 grant solicitation process. Immediately following this memo is a summary of project applications and funding amounts requested. As you are aware, the Committee will be meeting to discuss and evaluate the applications on the below-listed dates, with additional meetings that may be scheduled during the month of July, if necessary. A copy of the Application Evaluation Form has been attached to each application in this transmittal. Please review the grant applications and complete an Application Evaluation Form for each. Please also remember to bring the completed Application Evaluation forms and project applications to the scheduled meetings for meaningful discussion. In the event you have any technical questions regarding the grant applications, please forward those questions to me as soon as possible so that I may have an opportunity to conduct the necessary research or coordinate with individual applicants for response. To this end, you may then verbalize your questions at the Committee meeting(s}, upon which either myself or the individual applicant(s} will respond. If we are able to anticipate technical questions beforehand, we may prepare early on, which will save time and prevent us from having to return at subsequent meetings to respond. I look forward to seeing you at the upcoming meetings. Please let me know if you will be unable to attend or if you have any questions prior to the meeting(s}.
