The city’s budget process for FY2019-20 rolled out in mid-January with a budget informational meeting for managers.
The city is now following a base budget process; in the past, it was a block budget approach. All divisions in Library &
Cultural Arts must submit their budget draft documents by Feb. 14 for review by leadership.
Cultural Arts is preparing budget requests to support a ten percent annual increase in Community Arts Grants funding,
a STEAM pilot program and the guest artist residency initiative as detailed in top ten of the Arts 7 Culture Master Plan,
which was approved in June 2018. Cultural Arts is also proposing two new staff positions; One full-time Public Art
Coordinator and an administrative support staff member to focus on contracts and agreements which have increased
significantly in the last two years.
