Executive Summary
This report summarizes the recent presentation to the City Council regarding the outcome of the Venue
Feasibility Study and Market Survey.
Discussion
On Tuesday, Oct. 22, Cultural Arts Manager Richard Schultz presented the findings of the Cultural Facilities
Needs Assessment. Consultants Duncan Webb from Duncan Management Services and Victoria Plettner-
Saunders from Wolf+Brown were in attendance to answer any questions from the City Council. The
presentation detailed the outcome to determine the levels of need and interest for an arts venue. The
report generated the following four recommendations:
1.Develop a flexible indoor performance space;
2.An indoor performance space includes rehearsal, program & teaching spaces;
3.Create an outdoor performance & event space, and;
4.Develop an independent industrial art space.
Fiscal Analysis
No additional city funding is being requested at this time.
Next Steps
This information will be utilized to explore potential sites and opportunities such as a City Hall and Civic
Center location.
