HEAD 6£<p GENERAL Q/ COUNSEL Jf£/ / RECOMMENDED ACTION: 1) Staff report on proposed method for preparing SDNCVB performance measures. 2) Direct staff to include reporting requirements in SDNCVB's next contract for services. ITEM EXPLANATION: At the August 31, 2006 meeting the CTBID Board of Directors directed staff to develop measurement criteria for each of the two bureaus and create a template to be used in measuring the effectiveness of the activities performed. Staff has met with San Diego North Convention and Visitors Bureau (SDNCVB) and developed the attached report (Exhibit 1) to be used as a template for measurement of their group sales activities. The report is comprised of contracted room nights secured during the reporting period multiplied by an Average Daily rate, obtained by Smith Travel Research, with an additional amount added for meals and incidentals. This report would be submitted to the CTBID Board on a quarterly basis. The purpose of this report would be to convert the group sales activities to dollars generated by the hotels as a result of those activities. FISCAL IMPACT: None. ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: This action does not approve any projects that will have a physical adverse affect on the environment so it falls within the general rule under CEQA that this is not a project (CEQA Regulation 153789(b)).
