(c) Oaths of offices were administered to newly elected officials (d) Certificates of election were presented to Mayor Dunne, Margaret Adams, City Clerk, Frank. Rice, Treasurer, and Claude A. Lewis, Councilman. (e) Cmn McComas was unanimously elected Vice Mayor. (f) Committee Assignments were made by the Mayor. -2- 1! 3, I 4; ARE PROVIDED BY LAW. 5 6! 11 -1-6 20 21 22 23 i 24; 25> | 26 ! 28 29 RESOLUTION NO. 1714 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITY OF CARLSBAD ON THE 14th DAY OF APRIL, 1970, DECLAR- ING THE RESULT THEREOF AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS 32 The City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad, California, does hereby find, declare and resolve as follows: SECTION I. A regular general municipal election was held and conducted in the City of Carlsbad, County of San Diego, State of California, on Tuesday, the 14th of April, 1970, as required by 1 aw; SECTION 2. Notice of said election was duly and regularly given in time, form and manner as provided by law; that voting precincts were properly established; that election officers were appointed and that in all respects said election was held and conducted and the votes cast thereat, received and canvassed and the returns made and declared in time, form and manner as required by the provisions of the Election Code of the State of California for the holding of elections in cities; SECTION 3. That there were 12 voting precincts established for the purpose of holding said election consisting of consolida- tions of the regular election precincts in the City of Carlsbad as established for the holding of state and county elections. SECTION 4. That said regular general municipal election was held for the purpose of electing the following officers of said City as required by the laws relating to cities in the State of California, to wit: A Mayor of said City for the full term of four years; One member of the City Council of said City for the full term of four years; A City Clerk of said City for the full term of four years; A City Treasurer of said City for the full term of four years f U SECTION 5. That the names of persons voted for at said election for Mayor of said City are as follows: 3' DAVID M. DUNNE 4 MARTHA L. The City Council does declare and determine that; 24 !DAVID M. DUNNE was elected as Mayor of the City of Carlsbad 25'for the full term of four years; 261 CLAUDE A. (BUDDY) LEWIS was elected as a Member of the City 27 ! Council of said City for the full term of four years; OQ ' ' MARGARET E. ADAMS was elected as City Clerk of said City for 29 i the full term of four years; FRANK C. RICE was elected as City Treasurer of said City for 31!the full term of four years; XX -2- SECTION 7. That the City Clerk shall immediately make and, upon compliance by the persons elected with the provisions of 3j Section 11565 and Section 11568 of the Elections Code of the State 4i of California, shall deliver to each of such persons so elected a 5 Certificate of Election signed by her and duly authenticated; that 6 she shall also administer to each person elected, the Oath of Offic 7 prescribed in the State Constitution of the State of California 8J and shall have them subscribe thereto and file the same in her I 9! office. Whereupon, each and all of said persons so elected shall i 10| be inducted into the respective office to which they have beeni 11; elected.I 121 SECTION 8.
