Statement of the. Matter - •
Certain City owned water facilities must.be relocated due to the
widening of.State Highway XI-SD-5. . • ,
At the request of the City, the State has agreed to install
larger lines to replace the existing small diameter lines. ' The City
will reimburse the State for the oversize at a cost of $27', 885.00..
The larger lines are needed for the betterment of the ove-rall
water system and the work should be done n w to preclude tearing up
Pio Pico Drive.and replacing these small lines at a later date.

6-16-70 Resolution #1747 was adopted authorizing and directing
the Mayor to execute Utilities Agreement #14441 between
the State Division of Highways which would permit the
State to install larger lines to replace existing small
diameter lines, and the City would reimburse the State
for the oversize lines at a cost of $27,885.00.

RESOLUTION NO. 1747
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD AUTHORIZING AND 'DIRECTING THE
MAYOR TO EXECUTE UTILITIES AGREEMENT NO. 14441
WITH THE DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS
Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad
as follows:
1. That the Mayor of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized
and directed to execute on behalf of the City of Carlsbad
that certain Utilities Agreement No. 14441 for the
construction of utilities in connection with the widening
of Interstate Highway 5 in the City of Carlsbad, a copy of
which is attached hereto and by this reference incorporated
herein.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City
Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, held June 16, 1970 by
the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Dunne, McComas, Jardine, Castro and Lewis.
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
