WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Ordinance No. 9060, the
Planning Commission of the City of Carlsbad did on August 11, 1970
hold a duly noticed public hearing to consider the application of

required lot width from 60.00 feet to 20.00 feet, to permit a

ing described property:
A Portion of Tract 256, Thum Lands Map 1681, being Parcel

the testimony and arguments, if any, of all persons who desired to
be heard, said Commission did find the following facts and reasons
to exist which make the granting of a Variance necessary to carry
out the provisions and general purpose of Ordinance No. 9060:
1. The proposed division of land meets all requirements of
the City Council policy regarding "Panhandle" Lot Splits.
2. The unusual configuration of subject parcel warrants the
granting of a "Panhandle" variance.
22!3. The granting of such variance will not be materially detri-
mental to the public welfare nor injurious to the property
or improvements in such vicinity and zone in which this
property is located.
4. The granting of such variance will not adversely affect
the Comprehensive General Plan of the City.
26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commission of
27 the City of Carlsbad that it does hereby grant a Variance on said
