A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD INDICATING THEIR WILLINGNESS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE LANDSCAPING OF INTERSTATE 5 WITHIN THE PROJECT FROM 0.3 MILE NORTH OF PALOMAR AIRPORT ROAD TO 0.2 MILE NORTH OF LAS
FLORES DRIVE.

MHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad is
desirous of having the landscaping of Interstate 5 through the
City commenced prior to fiscal year '74-75 by the State Divi-
sion of Highways, and
WHEREAS, the California Highway Commission has requested
that local agencies be invited to participate in the landscap-
ing on state highways through their communities, and
WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad has already participated
by virtue of the sign regulations adjacent to Interstate 5 and
are at this moment enforcing said regulations to remove and pro-
hibit the development of billboards adjacent to said freeway,

WHEREAS, the Planning Commission and the City Council
have regulated compatible zoning along said freeway.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Carlsbad is willing to participate further by:
1. Furnishing two-inch water meters not to exceed 14

purchase price from the San Diego County Water
in number.
2. Waiving line connection charges.
3. Providing water to the landscaped areas at City's
purchase price.
4. Furnishing a copy of this resolution to the City's
I wholesale water supplier (Carlsbad Municipal Water
I District) so that they may participate on our be-
half by selling the City of Carlsbad water at their
Authority.

PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED at a meeting of the City
Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, held August 17,
1971, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES : Cmn. Dunne, McComas, Jardine, Castro and Lewis.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
