With reference to my letter of July 12, I would like to reemphasize the fact that of the 16,000 residence in Carlsbad, 8,000 of them are library card holders. There are thousands and thousands of books in the back room of the library just waiting to be catalogued and shelved. The library has requested finds for shelving for the past three years and has been denied each year. We are in hopes the need can be met this year. Some of the members will be present at the council meeting on August 1.7, and it would be greatly appreciated if the Council would reconsider the library' s budget request for additional shelving.
