Statement of the Matter

This prbject will provide for the construction of Chestnut Avenue
between Harding Street and Jefferson Street (including curb and .
gutter, sidewalks, base and asphalt paving). The City is cbmmitted
to the completion of this project by January, 1972, as a condition
of the State's agreement to construct the Chestnut Avenue Underpass.
Funding for this portion of the project is to be from Gas Tax
Account #9-2107 and will cost $16,000.00. .
Various existing streets within the City are in extremely poor
condition. A 1" asphalt resurfacing program is proposed for the
streets as shown on Exhibit '!A". Funding for this portion of the
project is to be from Gas Tax Account #2-2107, and will cost
$20,000.00.
NOTE: Funds for the above items are included in the current budget.
