'The original -proposal submitted by the contractor for Schedule II in his bid
included a deductive alternate for telemetering -equipment. It was not
feasible to delay award o'f the contract until the alternate equipment could
. be fully analysed. Therefore, award was made on the equipment listed in
the base bid. The alternate equipment, has been .analysed by our design con-
sultant, Engineering Science, Inc., who recommends that a change order be
issued to incoroorate the alternate equipment in the contract.
Certain modifications to the piping arrangement at the three reservoir sites
have been recommended by Engineering Science .to facilitate operation of the
reservoirs. These modifications have been reviewed-with the City.Water
Superintendent a-nd it appears that, it will add to the ease of operation of
the system. . •
The change order has been negotiated for a total- increase in contract price
of $3512, and a total decrease in the contract price of an identical amount,
resulting in a' net contract change 'of $0. '
1) Contract #1000 - Schedule II, Change Order No. 1, in the net amount of $0.

will be evidenced by signature of HUD Construction Representative (or where necessary, of Assistant
Regional Administrator for Housing Assistance) on Form HUD-4217.

ATTACHMENT A
1. As per Section III - Alternate Equipment of the Bid Proposal,
furnish and install Autocon Telemetering in lieu of the base
bid item in conformance with the Contract Documents.
2. Furnish and install a side inlet-outlet on the steel reservoir
at the Elm site as shown on Sheet 66A instead of the pipeline
under the tank all in conformance with the Contract Documents.
3. Furnish and install a side inlet-outlet on the steel reservoir
at the Skyline site as shown on Sheet 67A instead of the pipeline
under the tank all in conformance with the Contract Documents.
4. Furnish and install a side inlet and a side outlet for the pump
suction on the steel reservoir at the Ellery site as shown on
Sheet 63A instead of the pipelines under the tank all in con-
formance with the Contract Documents.
5. Furnish and install a 12-inch A.C.P. Cl 150 pipeline from the
reservoir inlet to the pump suction at the Ellery site as shown
on Sheet 63A and 75A all in conformance with the Contract Documents,
