- Statement of the Matter
c In 1959, the City vacated a portion of the Carlsbad Boulevard
right of way which had been relinquished to the City by the State
Division of Highways .
In order to construct the street widening and traffic signal
installation at Carlsbad Boulevard and Tamarack Avenue, it is nec-
essary to acquire an easement on this area previously vacated.
The State Department of Parks and Recreation has agreed to
grant the City an easement and has submitted an Agreement and Grant
of Easement for execution by the City.

Staff Recommendations -
Adopt Resolution No. ZU authorizing ihe Mayor to execute

RESOLUTION NO. 201 4
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN AGREE-
MENT FOR GRANT OF EASEMENT ON CARLSBAD BOULEVARD ON
BEHALF OF THE CITY.
WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad finds it necessary to install a
traffic signal and widen Carlsbad Boulevard at the intersection of
Tamarack Avenue;
WHEREAS, the intersection is also the entrance to the Carlsbad
State Beach;
WHEREAS, the State Department of Parks and Recreation is will-
ing to grant the necessary easement for construction.
THEREFORE, it is hereby resolved that the Mayor be authorized
to execute the Agreement on behalf of the City.
