As previously stated by a Personnel Director there are several employees
within the ranks of City government that are improperly classified
because of the %:sties they'are asked to perform and the manner in which
those'duties are 'directed' as opposed to 'supervised'.
The Library Director requests that salary ranges for the classifications,
LIBRARY ASSISTANT and LIBRARY CLERK be changed from 22 and 8 to
26 and 12, respectively, to more properly correlate stipend with
duties -and standards of employment.

Staff Recommendations
A study reveals the above to be a correct analysis: Therefore the
exhibit resolution provides for the change 'in salary range as
stated'.. It is recommended, effective September 1, 1972, that the
salary, range and ptep of Margaret Miesse, LIBRARY ASSISTANT, be 26C
and that of Kay Formosa, LIBRARY CLERK, be 12C, eligibility dates in
two instances to be 7/l/73. This -change entails no cost to the
City for Fiscal Year 1972-73.

RESOLUTION NO. 2077
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD AMENDING CITY COUNCIL RESOLUTION
NO. 2050 ADOPTING SALARY PLAN FOR THE CITY
FOR 1972-73.
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad does hereby
resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad did on July 18, 1972, adopt
a salary plan for the City of Carlsbad for 1972-73,
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT Resolution No. 2050,
dated July 18, 1972, is amended by deletion of Range 22 and
inclusion of Range No. 26 for the classification LIBRARY ASSISTA
the deletion of Range No. 8 and inclusion of Range 12, for the
classification LIBRARY CLERK, as set forth on Exhibit "A" attache
and incorporated herein.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED at a meeting of the City
Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, held September 5, 1S
by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Cmn. McComas, Lewis, Chase and Frazee.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Cmn. Dunne.
