Statement of the Matter:
has offered to donate three pieces of original abstract sculpture to the City. The provision placed. on the donation is that the City pay
for transportation of the three pieces from Los Angeles to Carlsbad. . The Library is very interested in having these pieces and displaying them. Exact transportation costs are not immediately available, but will be presented orally at the January 18, 1973 Council meeting. It is requested that the Council authorize the Mayor to accept the donation and further authorize transportation cost of the pieces from
Los Angeles to Carlsbad.

Staff Recommendations
Staff recommends the City accept donation of the sculpture for possit display in the Library and other Civic Center buildings that the Citj may construct in the future.
