A group of citizens, whose names are attached; have requested that a
committee be appointed to work for the establishment of a Cultural
Center for the City'of Carlsbad.

Policy matter. Suggest that Cultural Affairs Committee might
be a more appropriate designation for this group.

1-16-73 This matter was deferred pending additional information as to
the scope of such a committee.
2-6-73 The Council approved the concept of a Cultural Committee, with
the understanding they will perform as an advisory capacity
and coordinate with the Parks and Recreation Commission.
Appointments to the Committee were deferred to the Meeting of
February 20, 1973.
2-20-73 Appointments to the Committee were deferred to the meeting of
March 6, 1973.
3-6-73 No action was taken and matter was continued to March 20, 1973.
3-20-73 The citizens suggested to serve on the Cultural Goals Committee:
by letter dated March 1, 1973, were appointed by the City Council.

We are submitting herewith a revised list of
suggested names of people to serve as members
of a Cultural Goals Committee, with several
additions and deletions from the names originally
submitted. We feel that this list of outstanding
people could not help but be satisfactory to the
members of the City Council.
Those listed have been contacted and have all
expressed a desire to serve.
