Sealed bids for subject project were opened at 1O:OO AM on March 21, 1973. The Engineer's estimate for this project is as follows:
Schedule I - Slurry Seal $15,750 Schedule I1 - Asphalt Concrete Overlay $45,077.
The low bid on Schedule I was $14,332.50, submitted by Flex-Paving and
Engineering Co. of Tustin, California.
The low bid on Schedule I1 was $47,195.02, submitted by Asphalt Service of Oceanside, California.
Funds in the amount of $75,000 have been budgeted to complete this project
.and corrpct storm drainage and pavement failure on Carlsbad Blvd.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING BIDS AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF CONTRACTS FOR

6 Slurry Seal and Asphalt Concrete Overlay project in the City
7 of Carlsbad; and
8 WHEREAS, the low bid received for the Slurry Seal project
9 was that of Flex-Paving and Engineering Co. of Tustin,
WHEREAS, the bids have been received by the City for a
10 California, and the low bid received for the Asphalt Concrete
11 Overlay project was that of Asphalt Service of Oceanside,
12 California; and
13 WHEREAS, funds are budgeted and available in the Public
14 Works Department for said projects;
15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
16 City of Carlsbad as follows:
17 1. The above recitations are true and correct.
18 2. The bid of $14,332.50 by Flex-Paving and Engineering
l9 Co. of Tustin, California for Contract 1013, Schedule 1 - Slurry
20 Seal is hereby accepted and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby
21 authorized to execute a contract therefor.
22 3. The bid of $47,195.02 by Asphalt Service of Oceanside,
23 California, for Contract 1013, Schedule I1 - Asphalt Concrete
24 Overlay is hereby accepted and the Mayor and City Clerk are
25 hereby authorized to execute a contract therefor.
26 PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the
27 City of Carlsbad at a regular meeting held April 3, 1973, by
28 the following vote, to wit:
