Sowell Statement of the Matter The City Engineer has requested that Capital Contributions (Connecting Fees) be deposited in the Joint Sewer Construction Fund for future improvements to the Joint Sewer Capital Improvement Program. Presently, these fees are being carried in the Sanitation Operating Fund. The use of this Special Fund permits segregation of these funds for future major sewer improvement projects. Exhi bi t Staff Recommendations The 1972-73 Budget estimated revenues from Capital Improvements for use in the Sanitation Operating Budget as $21,000. Revenues received as of March 31, 1973 were $32,350. Finance Director recommends all future Sewer Capital Contributions be deposited in the Jcint Sewer Construction Fund. - -- AB No. 1 Date: April 74. 1973 City Manager's Recommendation Council Action 5-1-73 A first reading was given Ordinance #7041, amending Sec. '13.08.080 of the.Municipa1 Code to provide for the deposit of sewer connection fees in the Joint Sewer Construction Fund for Capital Improvements to said system. 5-15-73 A second reading was given Ordinance #7041 and adopted. -2- -. ORDINANCE NO. 7041 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTION 13.08.080 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE TO PROVIDE FOR THE DEPOSIT OF SEWER STRUCTION FUND FOR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS TO SAID SYSTEM. CONNECTION FEES IN THE JOINT SEWER CON- The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California does ordain as follows: SECTION 1: Section 13.08.080 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code is amended to read as follows: "13.08.080 Connection fee. Every person who connects one or more living units to the city sewer system shall pay to the city a connection fee of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) per living unit connected. Such connection fee shall be placed in the Joint Sewer Construction Fund and shall be' used to pay for capital improvements to said system.'' EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after its adoption and the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and cause it to be published at least once in the Carlsbad Journal within fifteen (15) days after its adoption. INTRODUCED AND FIRST READ at-a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City Council held on the 1st day of May, 1973, and thereafter PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of said City Council held on the 15th day of May, 1973, by /// /// /// /// the follovJing vote, to wit: AYES : Councilmen Dunne, McComas, Lewis, Chase and Frazee.
