. - Statement of the Matter *-
This item is being submitted for Council consideration in order to
provide authority to re-advertise for bids for the subject traffic signal.
The City Council at its October 5, 1973 meeting adopted Resolution No. 3231 rejecting all bids for subject project. No changes were made in the plans or specifications, which were approved by the City Council at its August 8, 1973 meeting.
The design costs are $1900.00 and the estimated construction cost
is $22,494.00.
Funds in the amount of $30,000 have been set aside from Revenue Sharing (account 1-28) by Resolution No. 3044, dated January 2, 1973.

The Acting Public Works Director feels. that conditions have
improved and recommends readvertising for bids. The City .- Manager concurrs.

RESOLUTION NO. 3267
N OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CIT?
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
CLERK TO RE-ADVERTISE FOR BIDS ON CONTRACT NO.
1015, INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS AT THE
INTERSECTION OF PI0 PIC0 DR. AND TALvWRACK AVE.
WHEREAS, the plans and specifications for Contract No. 1015
have been approved by Council Resolution No. 3194, and
WHEREAS, said plans and specifications have been filed with
the office of the City Engineer of the City of Carlsbad and are
incorporated herein, and
WHEREAS, bids were received by City Council but all bids were
rejec-ted by City Council by Resolution No. 3231, and
I?HEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad has determint
that there is still a need to perform said construction;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City
is authorized and directed to proceed to publish in accordance with
law, notice to bidders calling for bids for the service hereinabove
referred to.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED at a meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad, California, held the 7th day of
November I 1973, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES : Cmn. Dunne, McComas, Lewis, Chase and Frazee.
NOES : None.
ABSENT: None.
