Statement of the Matter ')/
On January 2, -1973, the City Council by Resolution No. 30-37 approved
the tentative map of Carlsbad Tract 72-26. The sewer agency, San
Marcos County Water District, presently has a moratorium on future
connections, which delayed the recordation of the final map. (see
letter, Exhibit "A") The applicant has requested that the tentative
map be extended for a period of one year to January 2, 1975.
v
The Public Works Director advises that Planning, Engineering, Fire
Department and the Building Department have been contacted to determine
if they have any objections to the extension of the tentative map, and,
therefore, having received no objections, it is recommended that the
City Council approve the extension of the tentative map.
In the past, approval of all tentative map time extensions added a
condition of approval that the applicant comply with any changes in
City ordinances or policies that would be applicable to his project.
Since the1 original tentative map was approved, two significant policies
have been implemented; a School Policy, and the Traffic Signal Policy
(the Traffic Signal Policy has not been fully developed but the Council
has been adding a condition to tentative maps that they abide by the
policy when it is adopted) . The Council should determine whether they
wish these policies to apply to tentative map- time extensions.
