Pieti Purchasing Agent Statement of the Matter 1 I As directed by City Council Resoqution 3312 and in accordance with , Section 3.28.100 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code, new bids for 1974 Police Patrol Vehicles were received and opened at 1O:OO a.m. Jan- uary 2, 1974. Nine units were bid on. Seven (7) units are for use as Carlsbad Police Department patrol cars, one (1) unit as a Carlsbad Police Department Burglary Grant vehicle and one (1) as a Carlsbad Fire Department command vehicle. Four bids were received. The lowest successful bid was submitted by Mira Mesa Dodge, 4910 Kearney, Mesa Road, San Diego, California 92111 and is recommended to the City Council for acceptance in the attached resolution. The total cost, including trade ins, for nine vehicles is $31,606.16, which requires a transfer of $6,448.64 from the General Fund to Police Department Account 1-1 19-9.1 and $1 078.76 to Fi re Department Account 1-120-'9.1. OF A COXTRACT FOR POLICE PATROL VEHICLES. BE IT RZSOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, as follows: 1. That the bid of Mira Mesa Dodqe, 4310 Kearny Mesa Road, San Diego, California 92111, is hereby accepted and. the City PlanacJer is hereby authorized to execute a contract for the purchase of Nine (9) Police Patrol Vehicles at a cost of: $3,884.25 each plus tax for a total cost of $36,706.16 less trade-in of Six (6) 1972 Police Patrol Vehicles for a cost 05 $5,100.00, for a grand total cost of $31,606.16. 2. Tha-t the expenditure of $7,527-40 is hereby authorized .For sai.d purpose and transfer of appropriation's, Finance Degnrtnient ?TO, 13, is hereby approved.
