A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY
COUNCIL, THE APPROVAL OF AM AMENDMENT TO TITLE 21
OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING SIGNS.
CASE NO. ZCA-35
WHEREAS, pursuant to provisions of Title 21 of the Carlsbad Municipal
Code, the Planning Commission of the City of Carlsbad, California did hold
a duly noticed Public Hearing on November 13, 1973 and continued said Public
Hearing to November 27, 1973, to consider various Amendments to.Title ?1 of
the Carlsbad Municipal Code, with regard to signs, and;
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission did hold a number of Workshop Sessions
to discuss the proposed Amendments to Title 21, and;
WHEREAS, at said Public Hearing held on the 27th of November, 1973,
upon hearing testimony, and arguments if any, of all persons wishing to
speak, the Commission did find the following facts and reasons to exist which
make the approval of this Amendment appropriate:
1. To organize sign requirements in a logical manner.
2. To eliminate discrepencies and ambiguity.
V.'HEREAS, it has been determined that this Amendment will not have
a significant impact on the environment, and therefore, no further environmenta
considerations will be necessary.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of the City
of Carlsbad, California, does hereby recommend to the City Council an
Amendment to Title 21 as outlined in Exhibit "A", attached hereto,
and made a part hereof, be enacted into law, for the reasons stated above.
NOW, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED .it is recommended that if the City Council
elects to approve the proposed "R" Zone Revision, designated as Case No.ZCA-52,
the Planning Commission does hereby recommend that Exhibit "B" attached hereto
be enacted into law for the reasons stated above, and to provide for the change
that will result from the "R" Zone Revision.

PASSED, APPROVED, AMD ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City of
Carlsbad Planning Commission, held on the 27th day of November, 1973, by
the following vote, to wit;
AYES: Commissioners Little, Forman, Casler, Hrench and Palmateer
NOES: None
ABSENT: Commissioners Dominguez and Jose.
